Flood Control at Fangrong Rice Mill in Tainan, Taiwan
◎ Models Installed:L Series - Submersible Large Volume Pumps
◎ Description:
On July 25, 2024, Typhoon Gaemi struck Taiwan, severely affecting the southern regions and causing an estimated NTD 36 billion (USD 11 billion) in damages. Amid this disaster, the Fangrong Rice Mill in Tainan’s Houbi District managed to avoid significant damage. The mill had installed floodgates at its entrance and equipped its drying center with 8 HCP PUMP L Series Large Volume Pumps to protect the harvested rice from rainwater. The typhoon’s intense rainfall breached a 15m embankment near the mill, flooding the surrounding area and pushing the water level to the brink of the floodgates. As heavy rain accumulated in the facility, Fangrong Rice immediately activated the HCP L Series L-41A pumps. The pumps efficiently drained the water, protecting the drying rice from water damage. Through the reliable performance of HCP pumps, the mill quickly resumed operations after the typhoon, demonstrating the essential role of submersible pumps in disaster mitigation and recovery.
